The Metro League and the Annual Memorial Football Classic
Three years ago, all Seattle Public High Schools played in the same sports league for the first time in over 12 years. The 1st Annual Memorial Football Classic came into being as a special two-day event to celebrate the reunification of the Metro League, to raise money for Seattle public high school athletics, and to build support for the renewed Metro League. It featured five exciting football games, including all three of the schools rejoining the Metro League – Garfield, Roosevelt, and Ballard. This year, the 3rd Annual Memorial Football Classic continues a new tradition with six games dedicated to uniting our schools, supporting our students, and bringing the community together to see ourselves as a whole.
